It's a sin that 200 Motels isn't available for HDTV cinema.

(It's weird to me just how glacial the HDTV rollout has been on all fronts. I mean, Vertigo only became available via VOD just a few months ago. And they've been endlessly waiting to put out some expensively restored event version on Blu. But the part I don't understand is that I've had a perfectly decent HDTV copy of Vertigo for years because they've aired on premium cable channels, and I've got a TiVo. And that means the studios have had a perfect decent 1080 transfer of Vertigo for years, AND DECLINED TO SELL IT. The same goes for 200 Motels. Decent 1080 transfer done years ago to sell to premium cable channels, but no a la carte sale option in any way, shape or form. I don't get the unwillingness to monetize the back catalog.)

Athletes are humorless drones. I would bet my kidneys this douche will be involved in some kind of gambling and/or PDA scandal before he's through. He reminds me of Pete Rose, and not in a good way.

Brian

Buy Nike Shoes' 'comment' leads me to wonder-- which Olympic events would Frank have excelled in the most?

Notice that she looks like Kristen Stewart

Simon Abrams

This made me smile. Thanks, Glenn.

Helena

Wow, I thought she always wore ball gowns! More unlikely celebrity couples, please, Glenn.

BLH

I'd say Kristen Stewart looks more like Frank Zappa than Claudia Cardinale.

Mr. Milich

I would Sheik Herbouti...

"I'd say Kristen Stewart looks more like Frank Zappa than Claudia Cardinale."

I'd say Robert Pattinson looks more like Claudia Cardinale than Frank Zappa.

Thanks for the "Frank Zappa Reconsidered" article on music.MSN.com. Fond memories of growing up with "Hot Rats", "Weasels ripped my flesh" "Oh NO" "Lumpy Gravy" and what not..
Remembering the thing with one of my siblings hanging the poster of "Frank Zappa on the toilet" on the wall of our toilet, and how that was freaking out my parents... sigh... priceless!

From the ridiculous irony department: In one of Franks songs he sang something like ..."why does it hurt when I pee.." and then about 10 years later he goes and dies of bladder cancer. Should have gone to the Doc instead of writing a song about it. But that's the price you pay for artistic freedom.

In high school, if you loved Zappa, you were way far out totally gone crazy, chu-craaazy, you were a 1 percenter, because the 99 other percenters didn't get inspired genius lunacy. Lonely but special.
