Semi-related: I got a spam email today with the subject "gershon.catz" and desperately hoped it contained an example of LOLGinaGershonz. It did not.

Owain, have you seen Assayas' "demonlover"? If not, by all means do. All will be made clear.
Dan, I haven't weighed in on the list yet. Working on it. Having some magazine experience myself, I can be reasonably sure that the people who put together the list know some things about what's wrong with it, e.g., the idea that out of a hundred films they've got, like, fewer than a half-dozen foreign language pictures...yeesh.
